During a dynamic 3-week course at IIT IDC Bombay, I immersed myself in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and user experience design. I honed skills in conducting user studies, analyzing interviews and work models, and crafting affinity diagrams through individual tasks, group collaborations, and presentations. I explored diverse user experience layers and models, defining product and user experience goals, while developing personas, scenarios, and innovative ideation techniques.
The curriculum emphasized HCI heuristics and principles, guiding me in evaluating designs using heuristic evaluation, user tests, think-aloud tests, and card sorts. I gained proficiency in user research, interaction design, contextual interviews, data collection, and interpretation, underscoring the significance of identifying user challenges and managing data effectively to enhance our interactions with technology.
This project was embedded within the course structure, where we learned methods in the morning and immediately applied them in practical sessions during the afternoon and evening.
